With over 25 years of experience playing and teaching music, Ryan Jerzak knows that playing an instrument requires hard work and passion. 

Originally from Joliet, Illinois, Ryan grew up in a musical family. His insatiable thirst for figuring out and mastering different instruments started at around the age of 11, where he could sometimes be found practicing the guitar in his room for up to fifteen hours a day. By the time he was a junior in high school, Ryan was touring the U.S. as lead guitarist for a well known heavy metal band. 

But Ryan loves and appreciates all types of music, playing in everything from rock bands, to classical guitar and Chinese music ensembles. Ryan studied Music Theory and Composition at MTSU, and realizes that he has only just scratched the surface. He believes that true knowledge of music requires patience and lifelong study, and imparts this message to all of his students.
